I’ve worked with too many dumbbells to go and buy some…
I’ve got this set. They’re pretty decent. There are also extensions you can buy to expand these from 50 lbs each to 70 lbs each… then again from 70 lbs each to 90 lbs each. Overall, it’s a bit pricey, but it’s worth it to have as many weight variations without needing tons of dumbbells all over the place.
I don’t have the stand yet, but I ordered one very recently. It should arrive soon. This set recently went on sale on Amazon (Lightning Deal?) for roughly the same amount, so this looks to be a second chance for anyone who missed that deal the last time. (It’s through that deal that I ordered the stand.)
I would recommend using a good pair of weight lifting gloves if you don’t want to build calluses on your hands.
UPDATE: It turns out I am mistaken. This looks the same as my set, but it looks like this one isn’t upgradable. These look to be 50 lbs each and that’s the max.
I don’t have this set, but I do have the Sport 5.5 set and they are GREAT. If you don’t need a ton of weight (cause these aren’t upgradeable), this brand is awesome. I’ve had mine for over 6 years and they’ve held up extremely well. And they save a ton of space. My only caution is for people with large hands. Might be difficult to fit your mitts inside.
I just want to be absolutely sure that I am getting 2 dumbbells here. I see a slight difference in the item description and the specs.
In the Box:
(1)PowerBlock Personal Trainer Adjustable 2.5 to 50 Pounds per Dumbbell Set
Pair of adjustable dumbbell weights for efficient, cost-effective strength training
I want to be sure that by set they dont mean one dumbbell, considering all the weight plates in only one dumbbell as a set. I want to be absolutely sure I am getting two dumbbells.
Thanks in advance.
I own & enjoy the Classic version, but my roommate found them to be unusable as he has big hands (big dude, 6ish feet, 300ish pounds). He could barely get his mitts in the block’s frame.
1 set of 2 dumbbells.
Yeah, I ordered this from Woot last time. Definitely 2 dumbbells, and each comes in its own box (probably why it’s listed as 1 “in the box”) which was great because hauling 100 lbs up to floor 7 of my apartment is not fun.
I have had a set for about 10yrs, power blocks are the goods!!!
