Wow! Just noticed the original prices have increased from $15 to $19, up 27%. :exploding_head:

At least this sale brings them back to the 60% of $15 price. Probably one of the last opportunities.

They’ve been $19 for a while.

2015 was only a couple years ago, right?

Let’s define:

Current year = 2025

2015 = The year in question

“A couple” = Typically means 2, but in casual usage, it can loosely mean “a few” (2–3, sometimes even more)

Step 1: Subtract the years

2025 - 2015 = 10 \text{ years}

So, mathematically, 2015 was 10 years ago.

Step 2: Use logarithmic compression (subjective time perception)

People often perceive time logarithmically as they age—this is a well-known psychological model of subjective time perception. The idea is:

“The older you get, the shorter each year feels.”

Let’s model this by comparing how much of your life 10 years represents, depending on your age.

Example: If you’re 40 years old in 2025:

In 2015, you were 30.

10 years = 10/40 = 25% of your life (up to now)

But the psychological weight of the past 10 years may feel much shorter than the first 10 years of your life.

Using a logarithmic scale:

Let’s define the perceived distance to a year from the present as:

\text{Perceived Time Ago} = \log(Y) - \log(y)

= \log(2025) - \log(2015) \approx 3.306 - 3.304 = 0.002

That’s very small! On a logarithmic scale, 2015 feels almost like just yesterday.

Step 3: Rounding for casual conversation

Let’s suppose:

Anything under counts as “a couple of years ago” in subjective terms.

Since 0.002 < 0.01, 2015 qualifies!

Final Justification:

Even though 2015 was technically 10 years ago, human time perception (especially in adults) follows a logarithmic curve. When adjusted for age and perception, 2015 feels like just a couple of years ago.

So mathematically:

\log(2025) - \log(2015) \approx 0.002 \Rightarrow \text{“a couple of years ago” (in perceived time)}

:white_check_mark: Justified!

Alternatively:

10 binary is the same as 2.

So it’s a couple of years.

Alternatively, it depends how old you are. Or if you are a cat.

Buy FIVE $19 shirts at $6 each, because thats $30. Then you get a coupon for another shirt because of the $30 coupon offer. So thats like SIX shirts for $5 each.

$3 off or a free $19 shirt. Hmmm. I suppose I could’ve bought the six shirts and got 10% off and another shirt. So 7 shirts for $4.63 each. But it’s easier to find shirts on the website and the cart doesn’t crossover to the app and it would’ve taken me the rest of the day so there’s that.

The cart will crossover into the app for me. Make sure you’re logged into woot.com and not just the forums.

Probably because of all the ad blocking and cookie cutting and privacy settings that I use. But I will experiment. Thanks for the heads up.

Couldn’t get the shirt discount to work. I tried several times, logging-out and back in. Making sure it’s Amazon checkout. I have 4 shirts in my cart and the discount didn’t appear on the ‘Place Order’ page. I’ve done this many times in the past on the Woot shirt promotions (I have probably 100 Woot shirts) and this is only about the 3rd time it didn’t work for me.
