I got mine today and it is used! The box was open and there is scuffs and finger prints all over it.

Mine looks refurbished, not new. The box from the supplier, which held the sharpener box, had been taped over. The sharpener’s box had been opened. Fingerprints and condition made it look used. The electric cord was just stuffed in the box, not typically wound and held with a twistie. But, when looking at the blades and the magnetic pick-up on the bottom of the machine, everything looks new. This makes me think it’s refurbished.
