PuraSleep 10" CoolFlow Deluxe Mattress

Just an FYI, I bought the PuraSleep 10" Serenity mattress the last time they were offered. They offered the queen size in a 4 to 5 rated medium firmness for $199 and I am extremely pleased with the mattress. However I thought I’d mention two things that anyone considering one of these might find helpful.

First, never having had a memory foam mattress, it was very important to me that it sleeps cool and I hoped their claim would prove true. I just figured for $199 I could take the chance and get a topper for it if it didn’t. Well, happily it seems to sleep very cool. In fact I found a review for it on Zensleeping.com after I bought it where it was rated a 10 out of 10 for coolness. I didn’t do research on it before I bought it because I wanted to jump on the deal before it sold out, which it did in just a few hours.

Secondly, I’ve read a lot about how many find memory foam mattresses too firm but, since it was rated 4-5 I thought it might be soft enough for a side sleeper. I’m 6’ tall and weigh 180 lbs. and the odd part was that when I pushed on it with my hand, it felt soft and gave easily under the pressure, however when I laid on it and distributed my weight it didn’t seem as soft or plush as I had hoped. I slept on it a few nights before deciding I needed to try adding a topper to get the plushness I wanted. I purchased a Lucid 3" gel memory foam topper from the mothership for $95 and it added the softness I wanted and I couldn’t be happier
with the end result. So for $300 I ended up with a bed that I love. The PuraSleep mattress itself though seemed to be of good quality and I’d expect the one being sold here will please anyone buying, however this mattress is more firm than the one I purchased and I thought my experience may be helpful for others trying to determine how firm this mattress may be.

One last note, since I was moving from a Cal. King size bed to a Queen, I also purchased a Zinus 4" metal base with wood slats from Amazon to replace my old box spring. It was relatively inexpensive, has a great design, assembled easily and, most importantly, has about 2.5" spacing between the slats, because memory foam mattresses require a maximum of 3" spacing for the needed and recommended support. This support sits in the same metal adjustable bed frame I used for the previous bed and the end result is my bed is just the height I had before and wanted to maintain.

Sorry for being so wordy, but I hope this info. will be helpful.

I’m interested, but can this be returned if I don’t like it? The standard Woot policy indicates that I’d be stuck with it if I didn’t like it.

I got the 10" King on a previous Woot. My wife and I are very, very pleased with it.

When you get it, air it out for 2-3 days before sleeping on it as there is a pretty strong chemical/foam smell when you take it out of the package. We set it up on our bed and removed the plastic.

After spending a few nights in our guest bedroom while we let it air out, it was good to go.

Don’t apologize for being too wordy. That was great information. Thanks for speaking up!

At the amazing prices WOOT offers there just is no way to offer a trial period.

So glad you are happy with your PuraSleep mattress!

Good Morning Wooters! I am a representative from PuraSleep and will be popping in to help out with any questions or concerns you might have.

How do you decide between the 10 and the 12? Does height or weight come into the equation?

You are right on point Dhdutton! The heavier you are the more support you need. With 2" of additional core foam you are are definitely gaining additional support. So, the more support you need can determine how thick a mattress you sleep on should be.

We bought the SynerGel cool comfort on here in April and are in love with it! Yes, it smells pretty strong for a couple days but it does go away completely.

How does this one compare to the one I have? We had someone visit recently and they really liked ours so I told them I’d keep an eye out. I see the SynerGel has 1.5" of the gel enhanced memory foam on top of 1.5" of another foam while this has 2.5" of the gel memory foam. I don’t want to tell our friends to buy this one and find it doesn’t feel the same. Thanks!

We appreciate your comments Chado006. You are correct that the SynerGel is a 3 layer mattress, with a second layer of Energex foam which reduces motion transfer. The SynerGel is a tad bit firmer than the CoolFlow, but they are both excellent choices!

Hi ccoolest. Sorry to burst your bubble, but that is our 10" CoolFlow mattress, NOT the 10" CoolFlow Deluxe GEL mattress. These are two different mattresses.
