These are really great. We replaced our plastic stuff with this… With Pyrex we don’t worry about it going in the freezer, getting stained, or picking up flavors. If you are at all on the fence on this one: Get it. We own 5 sets of these already since we make food ahead of time, freeze it, and then have easy weekday meals.
You can’t go wrong with Pyrex; I’ve used their bakeware for years. This is similar to a set that our local big-box store had for Black Friday, they sold out in an hour. I missed out on getting them then, but thanks to Woot! I’ll finally have 'em.
Cue the negativity crowd so they can inform us how Pyrex is not made the same way it used to be…and this stuff is no good! Please do not forget the obligatory ‘I only see 9 pieces in the photo’ post. We thank you for your bitterness.
You’re quite welcome. I bought these on the last round and yeah, it is kind of surprising when something says 18 piece and it’s only 9. There were also three chipped bowls in the box so Woot! had to refund me my money. Another fell out of the dish washer and broke on our wooden floor. Not sure why people assume these are durable.
Got these during the last time they were offered. Great deal and great product. We just moved into a new apartment and these have been perfect for just about everything.
These are fantastic. They may not stay in one piece if you, say, throw them at a cement wall, or hit them with a hammer. But they’re otherwise pretty sturdy and great storage/leftover containers. The small ones make good portion/prep bowls for cooking too.
One of the larger bowls in my set did arrive with a chipped rim. I contact Woot, thinking maybe I could just get the big one replaced? Or send them back for another? Instead, unprompted, Woot immediately refunded my money and told me to keep the other bowls.
This set has a different description from the picture, however.
If you believe the picture, it is all rounds.
If you believe the description, it is a combo of rounds and rectangles.
Description says:
“Includes: 4-cup, 7-cup, two 2-cup and three 1-cup round storage dishes and 3-cup, 6-cup and 11-cup rectangle storage dishes, all with matching snap-on blue plastic lids”
I got it last time it was on Woot, but when it got here it looks like one of the bowls was chipped (not a shipping thing; looks like it was a manufacturing error). Any idea who to contact to get that fixed?
