I thought “Martha Stewart” stuff was overpriced, but now even Woot is in the act. Just one (1) towel for $18? Really? Is it hand painted? Heck no, machine printed like every one of the print towels that go for $5 each or less. Really.
Custom design, small print runs increase the price. We can’t print/buy 10 million like Walmart and Amazon can.
The reason I always thought of Martha Stewart as overpriced is because they do print/manuf. a million or more and MS still charges twice what the crafters markets (runs under 1000 copies, sometimes under 100) do. I doubt the items that were shown here are in smaller quantities than Threadless and other arrtist marketplaces do. I would also have expected these to be 2 packs as that is the way I have seen most items like this sold.
Just my opinion, but I frequently buy custom “silkscreened” items over various types and in most cases the second identical item costs less than a third of what the first item did.
