I finally processed an order for random crap, after 3 years of trying. It’s bitter sweet though, since the website would not let me choose 3. Every time I hit “I want 3”, nothing happened. So instead of getting none, I just continued, so I got 1. Hardly seems worth it, since I should have been able to get 3, had the website worked as designed. This wasn’t even a sever issue. It was simply the java script not working.
I’m wondering if the javascript code is external to the main page, which could explain it-- things were loading so painfully slow that maybe the javascript just wasn’t loading, since it sounded like people who waited long enough DID get to switch.

I would be surprised if other sites, if they were to try to sell something like a boc like woot just did, would also have their server freeze up like this. Having 50,000 + people vying for 5886 random stuff for cheap prices and set shipping. Most other online retailers would shudder if they thought about trying it.
If woot adds more servers, the odds won’t improve.

Believe it or not I was named after the original great Star Ship Captain. But I only know a James T. Kirk. Not a William Shatner. So you bring it. Oh, it’s already been brought. Seriously, I’m about to have a dip, Skoal Citrus (see I’m not totally narrow-minded) and maybe call it a night. I have truly enjoyed all the Sallies out there getting irritated about the posts though. A truly good finish to an otherwise uneventful night of JD and such.
