If I was really strapped for cash, I’d bite. This would be great for a computer to tinker with, or for a relative that just wants internet access- the only problem would be not knowing how much expanding you could do due to the randomness of the event. But figure, a full fledged PC for $95?

I really should jump on this. I would like to have a desktop to put Linux on and for this price, I’m thinking I couldn’t go wrong.
…but I’m probably wrong, so I won’t.

Actually, one of these machines would probably make a fine Linux machine.

Over on Computer Woot, they have a refurb Dell with similar specs, except a 64-bit version of Win7 for $139. Slim tower makes upgrading anything more than HD or RAM a challenge. Dell OptiPlex 755 80GB SATA Desktop
Probably computers companies trade in on leases for new Windows 8 computers. They look like what some of our older ones we use. For someone that loves Windows 7 and just browses daily deal web sites and checks email, this would be great.
I saw the lure flash by and I bit! GF’s daughter needs a working PC. Would be great if it had built in wireless and a video card. But I won’t hold my breath. Who knows… Yo never know when buying a Bag Of Crap or a Box Of PC. Go WOOT!

Any idea how fast of a processor is in these babies?

You should probably expect a 2.4Ghz Core2Duo or so. Still plenty capable for a lot of stuff, but don’t expect any modern games to run. You also won’t want to open 50 tabs in Firefox on one of these puppies.
If you want a general purpose desktop, this is probably not going to satisfy. Might be good for a grandma machine–something for people who don’t really want to do much on the computer. Just a little email and Facebook to see the grandkids.
