Random Samsung Android Tablets

Oh my this sounds like a pretty terrible idea.

I’ve gotten random t-shirts before, but random tablet is a little more of a gamble.

Storage can make or break a tablet. I realise it’s not listed in the “what to expect” section, but do these have a microsd slot?

I will say that most samsung tablets do.

I’ll ask but I’m guessing that it may vary from model to model.

Probably much less risk here than going to Las Vegas with $80 in your pocket, anyway.

Or the best investment you could ever make ლ(ಠ益ಠლ)

$80 for Android 4.0? What can feasibly run on that OS?

Anyone interested in a headphone mystery box?

I’m thinking half the bet is upgrade ability

lots of apps

Note 10.1 (2013) runs on 4.3 or something. You need to run CM to get a newer version

Everything still works on mine, app wise

OTOH, you’re paying about $85+ for a minimum spec 7", dual core, 8 GB refurb tablet for which I wouldn’t pay more than $40-50. So IMO, this risky deal isn’t worth it because that tablet is certainly not worth the asking price and something tells me the majority of the tablets will generally fall into that category.

I took the gamble, I’m hoping it will be a good one… but that’s part of the fun.

Me too, hopefully I’ll get the 10 inch to replace the slow generic 10 inch I have now.

What is “CM”?

ClockworkMod A hacking thing that’s kinda: "if you have to ask, you probably can’t do.

CyanogenMod which is a customized version of Android you need to sideload onto your device (not an auto upgrade through normal Settings) - although apparently it got replaced/renamed as of the end of last year, as I’m finding out from this article:

CM is no longer a thing, they changed that over to Lineage OS.
Not all tablets can be flashed with this.
IF the tablet can be flashed, they almost always run quicker.
I have a 10.1 model n8013 with lineage doing android 7, stock firmware on this was 4.
However my 7" n230nu is still stuck on the stock firmware because it has a specific processor people cant port over to work on it.
Lineage isn’t full proof, like with my n8013 i get some crap about things crashing. works flawlessly but it’s annoying to see that over and over.

Battery life would be my biggest concern with these. Who knows how old the battery is and how many charge cycles it has left on it. Well, that and it is a Samsung so there’s the whole “bursting into flame” thing.
