Read Any Good Books Lately?

I just finished this and I really enjoyed it. They weren’t kidding about the “Hunger Games” similarity!

When I was a kid, I used to read all of the books about the Greek gods and goddesses that I could and I just have to say, none of those books were as detailed about the love lives of the gods as this!

It’s funny, though, every book I read in which Cerberus or any other hell hound stars, he’s always portrayed as just an over grown puppy. :cowboy_hat_face: Makes me want one!

I’m looking forward to the second part. Thank you for this recommendation.

I just finished another one of her books The The Rogue King (first of four in the series) and it has a hellhound in it, named Maul.

This series is about dragons and phoenix’s and made me blush with some of the intimate scenes.

I am glad you liked The Games God’s Play - the second book comes out in September

Have you read The Empyrean series by Rebecca Yates? There are 3 books in that series so far.

Now, I love me some Phoenix’s! :phoenix:
And we all know I have no aversion to… adult situations.
but…

Review:
When I saw rogue king, and dragon shifter, I thought this was gonna be full dnd! But smut can be neat too. Though I never can stand lack of communication that plagues most romance novels. Still, cool concept, though it felt like I missed a book or 3 in here.

So… would you consider this a “romance novel”? Like Harlequin romance? Or just fantasy with some sex scenes thrown in?

I haven’t. This sounds like an adult version of “How to Train Your Dragon”. Not sure it sounds as fun as the “Games God’s Play,” but I’ll give anything a try once!

I have her set to Follow so I get notification when that comes out!

The Empyrean Series is nothing like How to Train a Dragon, except dragons. It the series that got me into fantasy, normally not my genre, but my mind has changed. The new fantasy books seem to be more relatable to me vs characters I couldn’t connect with. I don’t even remember why I picked up the first one, but I couldn’t put it down. I flew through the first two.

I wouldn’t consider them romance - fantasy with some “creative” writing . It isn’t a lot, but when you come across it, it is like , well at least I did.and in the grand scheme of things it probably isn’t as drastic as I am making it seem.

I read Disney High over the week. It was really good, but my daughter was the age of the Disney Channel so I had a lot of the surface history. It really dives into the B’s that went on behind the scenes - nothing like the sexual abuse of the kids at Nickelodeon, but they definitely had no idea how to handle a bunch of tweens and some of the parents were more concerned about the money coming in and not their child(ren).

The

Disney High: The Untold Story of the Rise and Fall of Disney Channel's Tween Empire: Spencer, Ashley: 9781250283450: Amazon.com: Books author actually had far more people speak to her than I would have thought. Disney is notorious for keeping their squeaky ckean image and suing people into submission if the cease and desist route doesn’t work

I watched The Better Sister on Prime last week and read the book this weekend. I am always fascinated how different movies are from the books. Both were good, thought the book was better, but tbh for many of the episodes I kept thinking "oh this is the show that Jessica Biel was filming when Justin Timberlake (her husband) got pulled over for the dui and the cop had no idea who he was.

I liked the book so much, I requested a bunch of other books by the author from the library.

I also started the Dominions Series by Abigail Owen, read book 1 The Liars Crown, but started the other series before picking up the next two books bc I had them on hand. I am ordering those two as well.

Much tamer than the series I am on, but they are YA so that is why, but still really good.
