The alien invasion was the least of anybody’s problems.

Out of the blue, a strange alien mothership appears in the sky. At first, it just hangs there, making no apparent attempts to communicate with the people of Earth. But pretty soon the White House is a hole in the ground, and glowing translucent spheres are abducting people from the streets.

In order to avert further disaster, Satan, former King on Hell but now exiled on Earth, teams up with his best buddy and travel back to Hell to get a piece of tech that could send the aliens packing.

But little do they know that the aliens, the invasion, and even their own trip to Hell are all part of a greater plan, devised by a wicked entity from the beginning of time…

It’s a funny book reminiscent of “A Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” (with several references to said material) but… there are several … blasphemous sections. If that bothers you, may want to skip this one.

He has. Felix. I’ve read at least one book that was co-authored by Felix and Dick.

Ha ha, this is a pretty funny one. It’s super light-hearted, and a quick read (400 pages).

A delightful novel about alien invasions, conspiracies, and the incredibly silly things people are willing to believe—some of which may actually be true—from the Nebula and Hugo award-winning author of Blackout and All Clear

When level-headed Francie arrives in Roswell, New Mexico, for her college roommate’s UFO-themed wedding—complete with a true-believer bridegroom—she can’t help but roll her eyes at all the wide-eyed talk of aliens, which obviously don’t exist. Imagine her surprise, then, when she is abducted by one.

Part alien-abduction adventure, part road trip saga, part romantic comedy, The Road to Roswell is packed full of Men in Black, Elvis impersonators, tourist traps, rattlesnakes, chemtrails, and Close Encounters of the Third, Fourth, and Fifth kind. Can Francie, stuck in a neon green bridesmaid’s dress, save the world—and still make it back for the wedding?

Have any of you read the Mrs. Polifax books?

I’ve never heard of them, but after looking them up (Mrs. Pollifax - Book Series In Order) they sound similar to the “Thursday Murder Club” books, which I thoroughly enjoy. I’ll have to add those to my ever growing list of “TBRs” (To Be Reads).

The “Mrs. Pollifax” movie?

I don’t usually like what hollyweird does to books in TodayWorld. I did … find… the “Thursday Murder Club” movie and I’m hoping it will be good. :crossed_fingers:

I haven’t been to this site in many years but I used to snag a number of free books here. At that time you could still receive physical arc/galleys/PBs copies of the books. Probably has changed since then.

On another note I’ve been reading Station 11 by Emily St. John Mandel. I was a little hesitant about this one but it’s been a fantastic read so far. I have less than 100 pages left.
