Really not happy with Woot lately. Cancelled order

So I have been a wooter since 2008 (!!!) and boy do I miss the old days. Case in point: about 3 weeks ago I placed an order for an HP Chromebook. Or at least I though I did. I received an HP Elite book, same price, nearly identical specs, but a windows machine. Checked my email confirmation and it did indeed say that I ordered the windoze model and I guess there is
an outside chance that I hit the wrong button even though I don’t think I did. When I received the wrong one, immediately started return process and ordered the correct model. Same price, similar specs, I researched it for hours, like at least 4. Head on vacation expecting my computer this week (after what I consider a waaaay too long processing + shipping time of 12 days). Nope. got an email today at the end of a 9 hour drive that order had been canceled. what the??? I mean really?? What on earth is so hard in 2022 to have a system that verifies stock or whatever before taking payment and then waiting a week and a half to figure out you can’t fulfill an order. EBAY is better at that and that is really, really sad to say. Woot is at the absolute bottom of my preferred vendors now. seriously.

Well, I just ordered two of those mini massagers in black and when it was delivered today both were green and the order packing slip that says black qty 1 and had a number 2 in highlighter.

These were gifts and I’m debating ordering the black again and rolling the dice. I just feel sorry for my UPS courier.

they offered me like 10 bucks woohoo. I’m still fuming about it because after believing for 2 weeks I had a computer on the way (actually 3 including the first mis-ship) I’m back to scouring reviews yada yada. I just don’t understand how crap like this happens in 2022 when inventories are so tightly managed. and that it took 10 days before an unexpected and unwelcome refund arrived. As I said, I’ve had a few less than happy experiences of late, always to be blamed on 3rd party vendors, which is exactly my point: Woot has squandered the good will it gained with me early on, in favor of the economy of scale it now represents. really sad that I consider auction sites more reliable now.

Unfortunately, mistakes do happen. But isn’t it a good thing that you have a place that you can come and whine and pout?

So what is it, exactly, that you want Woot to do for you? They can’t magically make non-existent computers appear.

fair enough. thought it might be of interest to the powers that be that they are losing any decent reputation they had. yes, mistakes do happen but unfortunately I can count on one hand how many online purchase mistakes I’ve had in the last couple years and guess what? woot gets credit for more than half of them. that’s a bad stat.

Don’t care for the language of whine and pout. complain, yes. vent, maybe. just telling it like it is.
