The American flag is being flown backward in every single photo; The Union (blue starfield) of the American flag, whether displayed horizontally or vertically must Always be in the upper left corner. Displaying it the way you’ve pictured is the universal signal that the vehicle or vessel flying it is in distress.

Depends which side you are standing on

Actually, flying it ‘backwards’ is not the universal signal for distress, flying it upside down is the signal.

Otherwise all flags you can see both sides would always be in distress on one side…

As mentioned above, it can probably be ‘turned around’ to fly it correctly & then hope the wind doesn’t flip it back. :us:

It’s obvious which side the cameraman was standing on…the wrong one.
