How does this work for lefties? Does it smear like real paper and pencil?
never understood this product. iPad Air sells for the same price brand new and does 100s if not 1000s of things this will never do ![]()
I don’t understand it either but the people that buy this usually are head over heels about it, so it might be worth it even though we don’t see it. I see it as a “extra disposable income device because you could alternatively get a more grittier screen protector for an iPad to mimic the paper writing style.
They’re completely different devices. Just because you can do something on an iPad doesn’t mean it’ll be the best experience. You can watch a movie on an iPad, but it won’t compare to a movie theater.
Or, for a closer comparison, you can read a book on an iPad, but your eyes will strain more after extended periods of time since you’re looking directly at light.
well obviously, these are different devices
, that’s not even an argument.
what the real argument is the money being invested for the return on the investment. you spend $559 on an iPad Air (New) vs this Factory Reconditioned device, the gain on iPad is higher for what iPad is capable of.
FYI, I can’t carry the whole movie theater to the restroom while I
, but I can take my iPad. Plus, I am a developer, so no, in my 20 years of staring at computer screens I have never had eyestrain, so … ![]()
I don’t have one of these devices, but my coworker does. Swears by it. So much so it motivated me to get a Kindle Scribe, which I love. All my meeting notes organized. Writes like real paper. Excellent. I tried an iPad Pro before getting the scribe and the writing experience is just not the same. I get the comments asking why - but for us old school who still like to write, the experience / interface means more than all the other things an iPad could do.
that’s the only benefit I saw with these reMarkable e-ink displays that it encouraged companies like Amazon to innovate Kindle Scribe(s) which has higher benefit as Amazon has huge eBook library. I am waiting for the technology to get cheaper and within $199 to $299 price point to replace my older paperwhite kindles. but paying $559 for a reMarkable ??? almost looks like a company that was desperate to be bought by Amazon like iRobot ![]()
They are expensive but I use an earlier model. Because it is only for writing it allows, forces you to focus on the task at hand. They are also lighter, longer battery life. I have a Chromebook tablet. Heavier, less battery life
It is about not having all those available as a distraction. With the remarkable you are not going to suddenly play angry birds.
This is the correct answer
sounds more like a self-control issue than spending over $500 for an e-waste ![]()
I didn’t buy one and I don’t make the rules. Just saying why people have raved about them. There is even a box you can buy to lock your phone in…
Did anyone else receive one with dead pixels? As far as I can tell mine only has one dead pixel but it is right in the middle and distracting. Wondering if I should return it knowing that a lot of Remarkable Paper Pro’s have had dead pixels and this one may very well be the result of someone else returning it, i.e. the odds of me getting another with dead pixels is high.
