Is “pinnies” a regional term or maybe sport-specific? I think we always called them practice/scrimmage jerseys. I had never heard of “pinnies” until this year at my kid’s soccer practice. “Pick up a penny”, says the coach. Oh, you mean, put on a jersey?
Never heard that before either but I was also a band geek back in the day…
