Actually, I can confirm this is a pretty good deal. We just started carrying these at my store, and they’re closer to $1.79 a wafer.

They are a dollar at Dollar Tree and at Dollar General and $2.95 at Starbucks.

I’m sure the quality could be different but Target has airline-standard stroopwafels for 50 cents per wafer (3.99 for an 8-pack)

We got something similar in Colorado. Much more expensive but the finish was delightful.
