I have the Roku 4, which is the same as this model, but for Ultra HD TV’s, and I can’t recommend this enough. I debated between getting the other brands out there, but I love the variety of apps (and new ones appear regularly) without having to purchase them. The user interface is super easy to use, and the headphone jack on the remote is convenient for those who want to watch TV without disturbing others. You can save so much with this device as opposed to having a satellite or cable subscription because most every app has free episodes. Some do require subscriptions, but they are nominal and the good news is that you choose what you really need. I don’t know why I had cable so long. With a great high speed internet subscription, this is perfect.

I just bought two in the recent Woot off. Unfortunately one of them won’t pair to any remote, tried both the ones from this order and an older Roku 2, which is suppose to work.

Contacting Roku support was useless, the guy wouldn’t understand that the main unit has a problem, not the remote.

Woot on the other hand replied in less than 24 hours that they are shipping out another one.

The X references that it was purchased at an online retailer.

The B references that it was a Black Friday purchase. There for it has the code XB.

The R = Retail Brick and Mortar Store Purchase.
