They sure dump a LOT of these on Woot! Got rid of mine when I found out it does not support CIFS, SMB, DLNA, etc. to play media from your NAS or PC. Junk!

I bet this Roku will really spruce up your house.

I’m definitely pining for one.

Ugh. I just ordered this and forgot to update to my new address (I just moved). Why is there not a cancel option anymore?

You actually still have 15 minutes to cancel your order.

You can find out more in this Woot Blog: http://www.woot.com/blog/post/order-cancellation-you-can-do-it-now-if-you-must

In for one, thanks Woot!

I will keep an eye out for any Roku 2s!!!

I love my Roku 3. I like the Angry Birds Space that came with mine (quite addictive) and being able to watch YouTube and Vimeo videos. The streaming radio stations are pretty great. I also really like that I can plug a flash drive into the USB slot and play videos I’ve made.

Staples has a NEW Roku 3 for $89.99 - $25 off $75 = $64.99(NEW)

This is definitely a low-risk, high-reward type of refurb/reconditioned purchase as it carries the same weak warranty as a new Roku unit: 90 days.

I picked one up four months ago and it’s still plugging away just fine.

I love my 3 Rokus. I have a Roku2 XDS, and 2 Roku2 HD. It plays Youtube, Netflix, Vimeo, iTunes, Amazon and various profrssional sport channels (with paid subscription). You can run a Plex server on a PC and watch content on your Roku.

All of my Rokus are refurb units from Woot. No problems with any of them for years of use. These are the easiest way to replace a ton of cable TV content, if you are considering “cutting the cord.”

I’d prefer units, like this Roku3, that have USB ports. But Plex will work on any of the Roku boxes I know about. I don’t know about the Roku Stick, which is the most limited of all the Roku devices. The models with a USB port offer the simplest way to watch content not on the Roku channels. You can’t watch every format of video, but you can watch the most common of consumer formats, even if some kid in Hong Kong is dreaming up a new format this week and the Roku won’t play it.

These are great and simple little boxes. This link is the easiest way to find channels of video on the Roku

Got my Roku 3 through other channels after being let down by the Roku Streaming Stick. Very satisfied with the upgrade to the Roku 3 as it’s a quick and reliable device. Highly recommended.

Have you looked at PlexServer (https://plex.tv/)? Run a small server on your PC and it serves up everything to your Roku.

I picked up my Roku 3 (factory reconditioned) from Woot in April and it’s still ticking. I compared with Amazon’s FireTV & Google Chromecast. Finally reading this article helped make up my mind: Why Roku Matters More Than Ever

Roku + Plex Media Server ($5 one-time purchase for the app) is the best for people who have unencrypted digital media.

Finding the best channels for free streaming media can be a challenge. There are a lot of “unlisted” private channels out there with good content. You can find them at these sites:

http://streamfree.tv/apps/roku-private-channels/all/

For those of you with a Roku already, what are your favorite (not-so-well-known) channels? Don’t bother listing the obvious (YouTube, Facebook, Pandora, etc).

Have owned mine for a few months, works great. I use it at least 5 days a week.

Bought a refurb from a previous Woot! Sadly, the doggone thing did NOT work. After an extensive troubleshooting session over the phone, a brand new one arrived from Roku. So hey, I guess I couldn’t complain too much, right?

The best feature of the 2 and 3 IMO is the remote headphone jack. I am a first shifter, and hubby works nights. He loves that he can listen loud enough to actually hear without disturbing me. Never played any games, so no feedback on the fancy shmancy remote.
