I have the Ultra now and it’s a great 4k HDR Roku unit. It has been pretty much flawless since I got it several years ago. I also have the Roku 3 and it also has worked great and we use it in sisters bedroom now so if she wants to watch any of my media on the server she can. The ultra is fast and supports all kinds of streaming services and even Plex which I use with it all the time. A worthwhile device to get if you have a 4k tv and you get a extra unit for your regular HDTV in another room or to drag around with you while traveling.
Sit tight on this one…with out to much effort youll be able to by the LATEST roku ultra and the 4K streaming stick for $20 to 25 less than the 99. They will be new not refurb and shipping will be included. it will be available online is what I have been told
The new roku ultra has JBL head phones and little faster processor.
where? you say.
give me a like for this post
Best buy thanksgiving day and Black friday ad. Yesterday on the shelves they had tons of them
Looked at the Best Buy BF ad - what they are selling is the Ultra only, not the bundle that Woot is selling. It is $50 cheaper if you don’t need the extra Roku stick. The Woot bundle included the JBL earbuds. Thanks for the information, but cannot like due to begging and inaccuracies.
We have both the Ultra and the Streaming Stick (older model, not the “+”) and love them both. I got them both separately and both refurbed. The Ultra has always performed flawlessly, but the Streaming Stick had connectivity issues when we first got it - which have since been solved with either 1) a software update, 2) using a fixed channel on our home wi-fi router, and/or 3) attaching the stick to the TV with a short HDMI cable that Roku sent us for free. I can’t exactly pinpoint WHICH of these solutions was the actual key but I applied them all and the stick is now rock solid.
As for cable-cutting, a lot of the big name channels that Roku (and many other similar media players) offers are free if you have a cable or satellite TV subscription (or use someone else’s credentials who doesn’t have a Roku) but will cost you if you don’t.
I also have a small home Network Attached Storage (NAS) box that holds our movies and other files connected directly to our router. Roku offers their own free home media app that reads and plays movies, pics and music easily from our NAS. If you still have some DVD and Blurays as I did, it was easy enough to rip them using my PC and store digital copies onto the NAS so the old disc player went to the Goodwill.
As for price, today’s offering is probably close to what I paid total for our units combined - but it is hard to pull the trigger with BF coming up so soon if you are in the market.
You may have misunderstood what I wrote . In BF BB ad the ultra, the newest latest model is $50, The streaming stick you can buy that also from BB for 25- $30. You can buy it online or in the store and you could return them. Im not sure what inaccuracies you are referring to.
