specs seem off for grape percentages from the winery’s spec sheet:

cab sauv: 92%
petit verdot: 8%

fyi, winery price is $17 for non-members, $13 for club members plus whatever they charge for shipping + tax.

Drat! No OH shipping.

Seems to be more and more that don’t ship to SC either. Several wines that I was able to get before Amazon are no longer shipping to SC

Wineries are required to license (and yearly) renew for each state.

Had this at the recent SoCal #40 meetup,
Nice dark fruit nose with a bit of mocha, more medium bodied, not much in the way of tannins. Palate is similar with dark fruit and mocha but not very expressive. The wine felt a bit underwhelming and closed. This may be somewhat due to the first two bottles being much more fruit forward. I think the other guys tasted them in the same order. More indicative of the wine is that of 14 bottles opened it was the only one unfinished.

The price point is a daily drinker so it may be better as a table wine than a sipper. Still a little disappointing as I had the highest hopes for it of the bottles we were sent to try.

yeah, South Carolina is one of the more difficult states for wineries to justify getting a DtoC permit. it’s expensive and not a high volume sales state.

btw, I like this deal a lot.

It’s a pretty slick label. I like the design quite a bit.

I also tasted this at So. Cal #40 and to be honest this was my least favorite. Just a nondescript wine at least compared to the others we tried. Just my opinion YMMV. Fairly priced party wine I guess. Sorry

I have not had this particular wine before, but I am a HUGE fan of Ross Andrew Wines. Hard to get to their location, but if you do, you will not be disappointed. They typically make very well crafted, bold and tasteful wines that make you crave more. My guess is this was their shot at a more approachable wine for the supermarket shoppers that are not as palate conscious, but might be willing to try something different. If you get the chance to try their Pinot or their Syrah, you will not be disappointed.

Had this last Saturday. Agree with tyger and cortot on all accounts. It was my least favorite of the evening and came across as generic and a bit flabby. Not a terrible wine and I suppose priced right at $12 delivered though many better or equal options out there.

I’ll chime in to agree with the emerged consensus from Saturday night’s party. I think at $12 delivered it’s a fun bottle for later in the night or other such shenanigans. I don’t know if this will smooth out in the next year or two, but at slightly less money per bottle I’d rather have Pedroncelli and let it sit for 1-3 years for this purpose. Of course YMMV, and there are definitely a ton of people out there who will prefer this to Pedroncelli at their respective price points.
