I’ve been waiting for some of these rugs to go on sale. In for one moo rug in Tan.
That write up, kinda disturbing, but I still laughed.
I laughed so hard, I think I giggle-snorted.
Was in Mexico a couple weeks ago and a co-worker shopped for one of these at the street-side vendors. Decided not to buy, as he wasn’t sure if it would make it through customs. No excuse now!
Do these cow hides come from cows that eat GMO grains? Because, if I’m going to decorate my house with a dead cow, it must not be tainted by the GMO devil.
I highly suggest you DON’T keep your candles on the floor regardless if they are on the cowhide rug or not, as displayed in the marketing photo. Highly irresponsible.
More importantly, did these cows come from a humanely managed ranch? I’m definitely in the People Eating Tasty Animals group, so long as the animals were treated properly in the process.
So I bought one of these the last time they came up for sale. They’re cheaper than normal de to these having hides that are cut up a bit (you can actually see blood stains around the cuts) but nobody is going to get that close to your rug anyway. I put it under my living room chair, and its works well, good deal.
As a supporter of PETA (People Eating Tasty Animals), I’m in for one!
I’ve got this in the black/brown color and paid $190 on Amazon for it. It’s now $180 there.
Looks great, it’s real, the blemishes just make it look better.
It’s thin, and comes folded up and still, after a year, has creases even though we have a rug pad under it and put heavy books on it for the better part of a week.
For the price here on Woot, it’s a steal. Just be sure you put something really heavy on the rug for a while so it lays flat.
Think about this:
If cows are ever added to the extinction endangered species, this cowhides will cost a fortune.
Or better still, were these free range cows? Is this a vegan friendly cowhide? Will this cowhide protect a house against vegans? We’ve been hanging garlic, but once you’ve invited them in…
They call it an iron.
I got the same rugs for $100 at Sam’s Club last year!
I just flipped one over, and they are the same brand and size.
I’m not sure if they still carry them. Even when I got mine, they weren’t listed on their website.
As someone else mentioned, these aren’t top tier, but they sure aren’t bad for the $$. One benefit of buying in person was being able to rummage through them to pick the best of the bunch (some were fairly knackered). There was a huge difference between the ones I picked and the worst of the bunch. Some Wooters will end up with the bottom of the barrel.
If you have a Sam’s Club in your area (and you are a member), I’d suggest giving them a call to see if they carry them before ordering here.
What a great deal at less than double the Sam’s Club price!
I guess skinning the cow is just part of jumping the shark…
says to keep out of sunlight, what are these shady cows?
I suspect they were all “knackered” : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knacker !
