I used to LOVE playing Jarts!
Had these as a kid - they were great!
During COVID I spent a lot of time at a buddy’s place - he had a huge back yard. I tried to find Jarts but couldn’t. We were in our 50s so I think we’d have been OK with them. Ended up buying the newer, safer, and very much lamer version (basically bean bags instead of metal spikes at the end). We tried them a couple of times, then donated them so that some kids could be equally disappointed one day.
What other games did you play? I am always looking for adult things to do besides bean bags and bolos. I think it is fabulous that you did this!
I am thankful everyday that I had a wrap around porch and a decent yard during the lockdowns - I could not have made it without being able to sit outside
Somewhere up at the family cabin is a box of the original Lawn Darts I remember playing with when I was little. Heavy suckers and sharp!
I think I, along with my sister & brother, grew up in a magical time where the Universe sort of looked kindly upon kid stupidity, especially when I think of all the stuff we did as kids and never gave a second thought how dangerous it was–like having Roman Candle Wars on the beach, or digging holes and trenches in empty lots so deep it took a ladder to get out of. Or discovering we could make flame throwers with a Bic lighter and hair spray or hornet spray.
Ah, to those days of roaming all over the neighborhood on a bicycle, cheap candy & Slurpees at the 7-11, listening to Casey Kasem’s Top 40 on an AM radio in the summer, and not having to be home until the street lights came on.

Why can’t I stop thinking that it should read “Dodge or Die”?
that would also work, idk- pretty similar- I was going to leave the bottom text off, but it seemed to balance things out
This!
(Except: no brother, never could dig that deep, and FM.)
Mostly “drink the beer” - we saved a ton of money drinking at our craft beer place, but they still sold package so we had a nice ongoing supply of new and interesting beers.
My buddy did try to teach us (our bubble for these events started out just us two, then added 1, then 2 then 3/4/5 others - including the woman he is now married to!) how to throw fishing nets. I got pretty good at it one day - then completely forgot everything I had learned the next…
