I picked one of these up the last time they were here. Took about a half hour to put together, another half hour to fiddle with setting up some software and getting it working.
Still haven’t really done much with it, I just kind of bought it on a whim. I have a few ideas of what I want to do but I need to pick up materials and more routing bits. It seems to work well enough on some scrap wood and just about any software out there that works for CNC routers seems compatible.
For $200 if you have a use for it I’d grab one.
Does anyone know if this can engrave jewelry blanks like stainless steel, copper or pewter?
The only metal listed was soft aluminum. I’d bet that excludes stainless steel. Pewter and copper are both somewhat soft (in the grand scheme of things); possibly doable. I’d consider pewter more likely as a possibility than copper. You might be able to Google hardness values.
