I used the basil infused oil to saute mushrooms not long ago, and they were fabulous. The flavor in the oils from a previous offer (had some different flavors and no vinegar) are nice. There’s just enough flavor to add extra life to the dish, but not overpower it. I’m sure they would be good for dressing with oil, if you do such things (just never something I’ve done, as typically that’s done with olive oil, and I don’t like the taste of olive oil…).

I also purchased the grapeseed oil back in December, and they were really nice with bread or on salads. But they weren’t flavored.

I love the regular cooking grapeseed oil I got here a while back, along with extra virgin, basil, lemon and chili oils. I really was hoping for this stuff again, but I want the regular one. The basil is lovely but a bit overpowering in mild salads, the lemon was delish drizzled over steamed asparagus and the chili was incredible for sauteeing haricot vert, as a last minute drizzle over stirfry, in cashew chicken lettuce wraps… I would add that one to everything I wanted to have a kick of heat and a splash of nommy oil. I really want to try the roasted garlic but with all the basil and lemon oil I have left, I can’t justify this purchase today… :frowning: But it really is good stuff! :slight_smile:

All of the articles I’ve read on grapeseed oil talk about the high omega-6 PUFA and say it’s a bad thing.

IIRC, the oil rep was posting articles about how grape seed oil is good for us. I have no idea which side is accurate.

This too is what I recall, especially when used for cooking at higher heats when other oils break down.

Nows the perfect time to try the flavors - liquid spice to dip, drizzle or marinate. Graet on salads too! The golden balsamic is my new favorite mixed with any of the oils for a fresh fruity splash!

The good news is that grapeseed oil is one of the highest in essential fatty acids, actually compare to olive oil almost 10x more. It also has almost 1/2 the saturated fatty acids. When is comes to PUFA which includes omega 3 and omega 6 are all essetial fatty acids which are the building block of the cell motabolism and they are all called eessential because the body canot live without them. The omega 6 bad rap is inconclusive and comes from many studies where it has shown up in the blood from all the converted bad fats that were liquid to begin and then were hydroginated to solid fats resulting in transfats which is the real bad thing for you. When you read many studies you will find out that grapeseed oil is probably known as the haelthiest oil in the world…and that’s not just because I’m the guy making it. Also if your have noticed it’s called Salute Sante!..means to your health in French and Italian saluting the two leading wine producing countries which are key to our seed making this delicious grapeseed oil!

Regarding infused grapeseed oils, while I haven’t tried this producer, I tried the chili and the roasted garlic grapeseed oils at Castello di Amorosa winery and here are my tasting notes:

Long thin breadstick, dipped into chili-infused grapeseed oil: “Mmmm, this tastes like like a pretty long breadstick. How do they bake them so small? Probably with tiny little bakers in their oh so dainty hats.”

Long thin breadstick, dipped into roasted-garlic-infused grapeseed oil: “WHAT! Hey you, who are you? Never mind it doesn’t matter! Run, don’t walk, with a bottle of roasted garlic grapeseed oil over to that counter and buy it. And if you don’t have the money to buy it, panhandle for it. And if you can’t successfully panhandle for it, steal it.”
