Anyone have experience with this oil? I use olive oil for just about everything. Usually Trader Joe’s brand for cooking and more expensive olicpve oil from wine country for salads, drizzling, and dipping.
Not specifically about this brand, but I recently bought a tin of grapeseed oil, to go alongside my various olive oils (like you, different oils for different purposes). I’ve been using it mostly for higher-heat frying, like maybe the occasional stir-fry, or to saute fish filets. Sometimes I’ll use mostly grapeseed, and add a little olive for flavor. But no way would I use that much of it by the due date of this woot. Maybe the 9/17 expiration date is why the price is so low? It’s certainly a good deal. Could you go splitsies with another curious cooker?
Edit: I shouldn’t have called it an expiration date – a “best by” date doesn’t have that same drop-dead urgency. I would certainly use it beyond that date. But it’s still way too much, at the rate I use it.
I’ve used/eaten/drank things that were well past the “best by” date but never purposely bought something that I knew was going to expire soon. It would be helpful if Nanette returned to either confirm or deny the date listed in the description.
So true- the “Best By” is exactly that - the time it is most nutritious which is the first 24 months from production - no fear - the Best By is actually Sept 2018 - my mistake in the stats I sent in! So sorry!
