It is not an apples to apples comparison, but you can get quad core processor convertibles with an inch smaller screen for about $200 cheaper on Amazon right now.

I would not spend this much for a dual core convertible and only get an inch more screen real estate.

Yeah, core count isn’t exactly a good measure of performance, unless you’re looking at the same architecture.

That said, there are better tablets out there for around the same price. The original Surface Pro is cheaper and twice as powerful (although with half the battery life). The ThinkPad Tablet 2 performs similarly and is of better quality, but you’ll have to spend extra on the keyboard. Then there are a bunch of others if you don’t need pen functionality.
