If I get two can I use them side by side with one computer or do I need more equipment?

Yes, don’t need anything else, u just have to go to Display Settings and choose dual monitors.

I bought this one brand new from Fry’s for $$77 before tax and ended up returning it due to negative reviews.

Depends on computer, you may need a video card. Check the back of your PC and see if you have BOTH a vga connector (15 pins, usually blue) and the HDMI connector. (Or two of each of those plugs)

Another thing worth noting… While, of course, you can position two of these monitors next to each other, you can’t attach them to a monitor arm. Because, oddly enough, this monitor doesn’t have a VESA mount. There are VESA adapters available, but they cost around $40 each.
