Based on my experience with this monitor from a previous Woot, don’t try to connect this to a computer that is more than 1-2 years old. I’ve had constant video card problems on my 5 year old CAD workstation since connecting this beast. Oh, so I should update my $1500 video card? Tried that, new video cards aren’t necessarily compatible with older computers. So get a new computer? Bzzt, corporate software is only compatible with Win7.
So be cautious when adding new computer hardware to an old system. Just saying.
I had a similar issue when trying to connect an HP 4K display to my HP Z1 Workstation with a cad GPU. I tried everything to make the flickers go away. I even swapped out GPUs. Didn’t fix a thing. When Windows did it’s forced upgrade to Win 10, all of my 2nd and 3rd display issues disappeared. My boot time also dramatically improved. Not meaning to tout Win10, but it certainly fixed most of my system issues including extended displays.
