Hey Woot what’s the history on these [are they showroom units or customer returns for one reason or another]?
Is this manufacturer refurbed?
From the previous sale of these a couple weeks ago - they are refurbs from a third party vendor not the manufacturer.
I just got mine in on Monday and be sure to carefully look it over - I had a broken piece on the back and a copy of spots on the screen two in lower left and three in lower right.
From the other blog - one person received an incorrect One Connect unit.
FYI - Woot Customer Support has been there to help from what I read on the other posts. I’m going to contact them today on my issues.
I bought one of these in the last Woot, but there was screen damage and I’m returning it for a full refund. Since it’s a large product, they’re having someone come pick it up from me.
And I have actually just ordered another one since the image quality (apart from the damaged part of the screen) was amazing. So it is risky, but to me the quality of the picture and the price made it worth the risk to try again. Also just FYI, mine did not come with the wall mount adapter that is necessary if you want to mount the TV. If you have the same problem, you can order from Samsung, part# BN61-13577A. Good luck
This is a great price…I’m just leery after reading some of the comments about damaged screens. Seems like a huge hassle if something is wrong. I’m generally not afraid of manufacturer refurbished items, but with it being a third party, I’m a little scared.
I am on the fence as well. Would have jumped if it was manufacturer refurbished.
Looking for some feedback as to the condition of the units that purchased here and received. Can someone share their experiences please. I want one but scared to pull the trigger!
This model is the UN65KS900DFXZA model.
Is this the same thing as the UN65KS9000 model? Or is the 900D different?
I got mine from the previous listing. The unit came repackaged in a large plain brown box. LOTS of airbags and foam wrap around the unit. There was a large tear in the box from something hitting it but whatever it was it never made it to the TV. After unwrapping and giving it the once over I noticed the glass was perfect, no scratches or other issues there. The metal lip that wraps around the edge of the TV had some small dings and dents but mostly unnoticeable except if you were looking very close. The back of the TV was in rough shape. Lots of scrapes and scratches but I wall mounted this unit so I’m not concerned about them. The TV itself has no bad or dead pixels (that I can see yet). And everything seems to be working just fine.It looks like all of the accessories were here like the remote, stand, cords, and back plate. Overall, I’m happy with the TV. Feel free to ask me anything related to this purchase. Oh, I also picked up the Samsung HW-K470 4.1CH Soundbar w/ BT Sub & Rear Spkrs to go with this TV. EDIT Looks like it was missing the adapters for wall mounting. The top two holes are M6 sized and the two bottom holes are the standard M8. You can get two M6 bolts from any hardware store or order part number BN61-13577A online. That was the ONLY thing missing.
Thanks Tit0, much appreciated. I was hoping these were new units being cleared out as refurbished. This could be a hit and miss case. Very tempting still.
From what I have read on multiple forums, the UN65KS900D model is for Costco, Sam’s, BJ wholesale etc. and the UN65KS9000 is the retail version. The bezel is gun metal for the UN65KS900D and silver for UN65KS9000. Everything else is the same.
I got one from the last sale. One of the corners was destroyed, screen completely shattered. Pity too, it’s a great looking unit.
I am sorry to that man! Were you offered a replacement or refund?
Not sure, waiting to hear back from customer service.
I asked for a replacement but I was told I could only get a refund.
It must be the case they didn’t have one in stock at the time because they policy states different. Check it out.
“If we still have the same item in-stock, we will provide you with an exchange of the same item.”
I purchased one of these last week and it arrived on Monday. Plain brown box with little other than that for packaging. The tv was packed in airbags, two of which were ripped. The box was pretty beat up and buckled. Upon first opening it, everything seemed fine until I assembled the tv with the stand and noticed damage to the surrounding bezel. 4 large nicks on one side and the opposite had a crushed corner bezel with separation along the bottom of the screen. Then I noticed the panel was warped and twisted. Such a shame because the screen quality is really really nice. Woot Customer Service has been working on the return and refund for the past two days. If your box arrives damaged make sure that the motor freight company marks the BOL as such. Here’s hoping this gets resolved soon.
starpango, thanks for your feedback, very helpful post. I am a huge fan of Samsung. I have 3 Samsung TVs, two more than 8 years old and they still look and work as the day I bought them. I am looking for the same experience but purchase feedback on this one so far doesn’t look so promising. Love to have one but not quite sure I will roll the dice. I will wait for more feedback.
I ordered one but was not delivered because it got damage on the way. customer service seems to be very slow to respond to customers.i have been trying to get in touch with customer service for about 3 days now no reply yet. hopefully i will get another tv.
