Had this phone…its 2-3 years old, but would rather have this vs. a new $120 or $200 phone unless I knew it was specifically better than this. Great camera, water resistant, decent processor even by today’s standards, can add memory, and can switch out battery. Not a bad option for someone wanting a good performing phone on a tight budget, or need something for 6 months, etc…
my wife has t-mobile service. if i get this phone, does anybody here know if i can just swap the sim card from her phone into this one?
does this have the volume toggle on one side of the phone and the pretty button on the opposite side?
I hate that because whenever I change the volume on a call I shut off the phone.
If not then I’m in
Yeah - this does have power opposite the volume keys. Still a solid phone, though I don’t know what Woot’s definition of S&D is.
I would be VERY hesitant especially S&D (scratch & dent). I purchased the S7 Edge when it was offered recently and it arrived with the back almost totally shattered! Way beyond a scratch or dent IMHO. Not only that, they sent me the wrong model. S7 instead of the S7 Edge. Promptly returned for a full refund, but very leery of buying another phone here ever! BUYERS BEWARE!!
Yes, you can.
From the features:
Scratch & Dent: These units have been restored to full working order. They may have minor cosmetic blemishes to the body of the unit and surface scratches on the screen. This will not impair use of the device.
What’s the model number of this phone?
Amazon’s page on this phone says it’s compatible with Verizon; the sketchy page linked here on compatibility says it’s only 4g compatible. Is there anyone who understands this stuff that cares to interpret it for me?
I used this phone on Verizon for 2 years. So, yeah it works on Verizon. I now use it as an MP3 player with a 64gig card… Very nice phone, good battery life (use super battery saver setting for days of life) good camera and water resistance. Good screen. Nothing not to like here.
What’s the return policy for things like this? What if my definition of scratch and dent and theirs don’t jive? Am I stuck? I assume you pay return postage.
I’m tempted to buy it but I need to factor costs like that into the purchase price.
I got one of these a while ago and couldn’t be happier. In fact I will never get a new phone from my carrier, I’m always going to go second hand.
One complaint I have is they make sure the case is intact and the screen isn’t scratched but one thing they don’t check, and I have read others have gotten these phones is screen burn in. I must have gotten a phone from a teenage girl because FB is burned in to my phone, kinda annoying, but I’ve gotten used to it.
I agree. I made the mistake of purchasing one of these S&D S5s from woot about a year ago. I won’t ever do that again. I post this every time I see them come up for sale. Although it functions, the screen looks as if the previous owner kept it in their pocket with a handful of sand and gravel.
On the other hand, I bought one a year and a half ago that was in near perfect condition and it’s still going strong without any unexpected damage (did buy a new battery and back cover about a year). Must be some decent leeway in their definition.
Phone runs warm and comess with to many pre installed apps I just do not need and can not get rid of.I consider this whole idea a mistake.
Hi Purchased the phone but it is not working for me… any ideas? i can not change the apn settings. no options.
I’m sorry for the problems. I’m guessing you already got a SIM for it.
