Do these ship with Toner, i.e.: a Starter Toner Cartridge?

Great question. For the SL-C1860FW model, does it comes with a full compliment of toners? Black and all colors?

looks like M2885FW includes a toner cartridge with 1200 page yield. Most inkjets you’d spend more than the printer cost on ink cartridges alone. There is a company selling these refurbed/used/open box for $59.99 and free shipping, but this is cheapest for a new model by a significant margin.

It’s pretty tall though if you have a desk with a slide out for a printer, make sure you have at least 15 inches space.

I’m amazed HP’s lawyers haven’t already acted to quash this use of the term “laserjet”.

From the specs for the SL-C1860FW, it comes with “Starter Toner Cartridges”:
Black: 1,000 pages, Cyan/Magenta/Yellow: 700 pages each

Dangit. Yesterday they offered a great deal on a chromebox and the only thing that kept me from getting it as a belated Christmas gift for my mom was the lack of a printing option. Then today they offer a google cloud print laser printer.

Does it do cloud scanning or do you have to be cord-connected to do that?

The color laser is tempting, but with only manual duplexing, I’ll have to pass. You sshoukdn’t advertise it as an office printer without duplexing capabilities. :frowning:

I own the M2885FW from a staples close out from a year and a half or so ago. Its been a really good printer. I have since put 2 cheep refurb cartridges in it ($23 a piece)with no issues and getting the same yield out of them as the new name brand carts. For the price and the features of the printer and if you are in the market for one, I would recommend it

That’s Woot’s mistake with the trademark. Samsung doesn’t use it.

It makes no sense to use HP’s trademark when “laser” would do, but I didn’t write the copy.

I wonder if this can also be used to “xerox” documents.

Ooh this is a fun game.

Probably but only after you wipe the glass with a kleenex.

I misread the headline and thought it said “Samsung Malfunction Laserjet Printers.”

Screw HP, they been scamming us since day one and their small ink carts in large machines that dry up. Never ever again!

Tough customers here, I paid 600 back in the day just to print color and have my tiny ink cart dry up. I think those alone were almost 50 each. Screw HP!

I’m very tempted, but the ad is a bit confusing because the photos don’t include which model you are looking at. Let me see if I have this right.

The SL-C1860FW is a color printer (larger of the two)

M2885FW is a black and white printer.

We have the Samsung ML-1865 which is great but does not have a scanner, so we’ve kept our old HP scanner. I’d appreciate hearing more comments from current owners on the quality of the color printing for photos.

Can anyone know if this model of Samsung printer is compatible with Windows 10? After reviewing the Samsung support page for the M2885FW, it appears that Samsung has released a recent universal printer driver update on 10/28/15 that mentions Win 10, but I would hate to purchase the printer only to find out it doesn’t work with Win 10.

Can the FW model print 11" x 17"?
