This is a pretty great buy for anyone who is willing to give up the waterproof aspects of the S7. Other than that, performance wise they are definitely on par.

The benchmark differences which favor the s7 are almost unnoticeable once app data is cached,and the larger sized battery in the s7 is neutralized from the increase ram which uses more power.

This is the ATT so it will come with the standard bloatware from them, but still a great buy for gsm users.

I bought the Galaxy Note 4 from woot a few weeks ago…after getting a sim card ($4 on ebay–Not $21 from Tracfone!), I got it working and like it.
Having a replaceable battery and sd card slot is a Plus. And the 5.7" screen.

Pretty sure Republic is a MVNO on Sprint. At least it was when they first started up.

I agree sourcing the correct variant of the S6 will be something of a challenge. You can get it from Samsung direct here: Galaxy S6 32GB (Unlocked). The price is worse than Republic’s. For what it’s worth unlike legacy Republic phones all 3.0 phones are unlocked. You would be able to use an S6 purchased from Republic elsewhere if you desire.

Please keep in mind Republic’s qualified variant of the S6 is truly GSM only (it lacks CDMA hardware capability), so elsewhere means AT&T, T-Mobile or an MNVNO using one of their networks.

I bought a scratch and dent Samsung S5 last year and it looked like it had been dropped in a running garbage disposal and has scratches over the camera lens. Just say no to this deal.
