so this phone isn’t compatible with verizon? It says it is compatible with at&t sprint and tmobile but in the description it mentions something about verizon’s 4g lte network. I’m so confused xD. If I can use a verizon sim card I’d buy this instantly but I don’t know if it will accept it.
I was going to ask the same thing. Description does not mention Verizon but the details below do. “Enhance Your Mobile Experience
Make a great mobile experience even better by bundling your new device with Verizon accessories.”
Woot please confirm!! I’m in, if it works on Verizon!!
In the US, Sprint, Verizon and US Cellular use CDMA. AT&T and T-Mobile use GSM. Most of the rest of the world uses GSM.
So no. It will not work on Verizon. I don’t know why it says it will work with Sprint.
AT&T is always GSM, T-Mobile is always GSM, while Verizon and Sprint are always CDMA.
Since the network operators launched LTE networks, it’s become a little easier. All LTE networks in the U.S. are built using GSM technology, so newer Sprint and Verizon LTE-enabled handsets include a SIM card and may work on all GSM networks, big and small. It depends on the way specific phones are designed though.
The ad mentions"scratches and dents." Does this mean it has “scratches and”
Yes it does. I returned an S7 that I had ordered from here last time as it had way too much S&D also I use AT&T and the phone was a T-Mobile Carrier phone due to which T-Mobile apps could not be removed.
The specs have these lines:
Network: LTE Band 13/4 (700/1700 MHz), CDMA/1xEVDO Rev. A (800/1900 MHz)
Global Network: EDGE/GSM (850/900/1800/1900 MHz), HSPA/UMTS(850/900/1900/2100 MHz)
It looks like its a Sprint phone, but will work on GSM networks because it is unlocked. It has a GSM chip in it to enable it to work on LTE networks that are all GSM based. I don’t think it will work on Verizon.
Received my S6 this morning. There’s a bubble under the screen toward the top (near the speaker). The screen is sometimes slow to respond, and there’s a ghost image of the keyboard when it’s not present.
Sadly, I think this will need to be returned.
Got mine today 7/14 I can confirm it is a sprint phone only found 1 small dent right now trying to change the APN. Can not find the setting for it. I was surprised mine came with a phone case.
I got this for my husband to use on AT&T. We went to get him a new SIM card, and they installed it and the phone didn’t work. Another guy at the store said that Sprint unlocked phones don’t work on other networks. Soooo anyone want to buy a phone?
Other than that the phone is in great condition.
I think my husbands has a ghost image as well…it’s light, but it’s there.
Ok took mine to T-Mobile store could not get my tmobile sim to work. Went to 2 Sprint stores they did not sell Sims had to order one on Amazon. Want to see if phone works. I did find this tip to get to a menu ##data# key that in to get to a menu to change APN but can not seem to save the settings
This is so annoying! Never buying another “Sprint Unlocked” phone again!
I gave up I am returning mine for a refund. I did find a T-Mobile one on Amazon as a refurb with a 90 day warranty and rated like new for $189.00 about what I paid for this one with S&D. If any one needs a Sprint sim let me know I have one on the way to me that I no longer need. This has been one major learning exp. But I have to say WOOT has been very nice and quick to offer me options. GREAT JOB WOOT but you may want to not use the same supplier again.
How easy is it to return to Woot? I’ve already listed mine to sell, but so far, only sketchy responses…
Got a replacement phone. First phone was an ATT phone and worked with my wife’s Straight Talk SIM (ATT). Replacement phone is in much better condition and no ghosting. It’s sprint-branded with a diff OS version than the first. Straight Talk SIM works fine in it.
I got mine yesterday and it appeared physically perfect, HOWEVER I cannot get my TMobile SIM to work. Anyone have advice for me?
