Saucony Men's Ride ISO Running Shoes

Saucony Men's Ride ISO Running Shoes

I bought a pair of these back in early June from Woot for $59.99 to replace my beloved Saucony Ride 9 shoes. The shoe platform is quite a bit narrower. On the Ride 9’s the platform flairs out more at both the heel and forefoot. The result is that the Ride 9’s give a much more certain feel of stability than the Ride ISO’s. Another demerit is that the forefoot feels like there is less padding. On the plus side, the slatted uppers of the Ride ISO conform better to the foot then the Ride 9’s.

Overall, I this this is a good shoe for the price but not a great shoe.

I also bought a pair of Saucony Triumph ISO’s which feature a thicker cushion than the Ride ISO, but are otherwise very similar. I don’t get the feeling of inadequate forefoot padding. The tongue cushion is also thicker on the Triumph’s than the Ride’s. I would rate the Triumph ISO’s above the Ride ISO’s for myself.

As far as the competition, I prefer the Hoka One One Bondi 5 or Bondi 6 to the Triumph ISO’s and would recommend them to anyone who needs serious ankle or knee care while jogging.

Huh.

We’re trying to lead the way on the next gender debate.

Thanks - the shoe does look narrow. Guess they’re not available in EE/Wide…?
