Scott Harvey InZINerator Magnum Duo (2)

My first Scott Harvey wine was a 2007 InZinerator. I’ve since become a huge fan and have purchased more bottles of Scott Harvey/Jana/Super Hero wines (139) than from any other producer. That doesn’t even include wines that he made for others such as Astrale e Terra and Gazzi. His is also the only wine club that I belong to. If money talks, then you know what I’m saying.

EDIT: I was about to say “make that 141 bottles” but the coupon code someone was nice enough to share with me (since woot didn’t see fit to send me one) did not work. Grumble grumble…

Do either of these have the 5% or so of port varieties?

They are the same wine as the 750ml bottles. Both blends have 6% Forte in them.

Just out of curiosity, what is the purpose of the extra barrel aging?

There isn’t extra barrel aging. The large formats and the regular bottles are bottled at the same time. But, the larger bottles are aged longer in the bottle before release. This allows the blend to age more slowly making it softer and more integrated.

Hi Everyone,
We go through the trouble and a bottling and packaging expense that is twice to three times that of 750 ml bottles, so that we have some of the wine in a container that ages much longer than in a regular bottle. That is why the cost per ml is greater on large format bottles. That is also why we are offering older vintages of the large formats. We incur extra cost for holding the wine for a couple more years. Hope this answers the question.
