So, have we reached the technology point where i can see this hard drive and just assume if I order it it can go into a laptop AND a desktop?
SCIENCE!

2.5" drives go into both, might you might need to get some mounting brackets or something similar to use in your desktop. Unless you don’t care about organization or gyroscopic motion.
I’m in the market for a new HDD, but not a refurb’d one. Next!
No tmuch really - just losing all your precious photos, invaluable documents, memories of a lifetime… The amount of money you’ll spend on therapy will be beyond your means and eventually lead to ruin.
Got one of these in a Baggie of Coyotes once. Didn’t have a need, so I just tossed it. Did you notice Woot only had FOUR (4) of the HD Camcorders just now. No wonder these items are slipping into SOLD OUT so quickly…
This is a SATA drive. If you have an older PC you might not be able to use this. Older PC’s use IDE to connect to your hard drive. Please check your pc before ordering this drive or you may not be able to use it.

Why would you care about a refurb HD? Anytime one is replaced, it’s one of these you get. I’ve always had good luck with the returned drives I’ve gotten.
I bought three Seagete drives for my media PC and each one failed. The warranty was 5 years and each replcement failed. They are still under warranty, but they cause more trouble than they are worth. How long do you think that 180 day warranty will protect you? They fail after several months, but they start off by giving poor throughput, then thet eventually fail. Seagate will never admit to making a crappy product. I don’t buy Seagate drives, stick with WesternDigital.
