I was excited, but then I realized it’s a 3.5" drive. I need a 2.5" drive for my laptop. My 160GB isn’t working out too great.

Run away. Far away.

Lots of failures with these drives.

See the negative reviews on the 'egg.

Generally speaking - there was a lot of issues surrounding the 7200.11 series from Seagate.

Edit: similar spec’ed Western Digital Caviar Blue (NEW) for only $5 more after figuring in Woot’s shipping: Linkity

Seagate refurb, turn and run!!!

I havn’t had good luck with seagate refurbs in the past.

BEFORE YOU BUY! Make sure you’re computer uses a SATA connection. Here’s how to find out:

In this picture, top is PATA and bottom is SATA. If you’re old harddrive looks like the bottom, it is SATA.

Here’s another picture of SATA to help you out:

I’m sooo embarrassed. I actually know what this is :frowning:

Refurbished hard drive? I wouldn’t buy this with someone else’s money.

Are these from back when Seagates could reliably be expected to drop dead without notice, or are they the newer, more reliable ones?

$99.99 with pretty good reviews over at amazon

REFURBISHED Hard Drive seems full of fail to me.

I’m diggin’ the jab at Giz with this one.

Judging by the failure reports on these drives you’ll want a RAID1+0 or RAID5.

If you want an awesome way to add 5 hot-swap drives to your PC/server check this out
