My dad had Sengled Smart bulbs and Amazon emailed my dad saying they the Alexa skill would no longer be supported after…..August 3rd (?? Can’t remember the exact date, but that might be it). Sure enough, they stopped working and I installed another brand.

Alexa skill removed: Amazon permanently discontinued the Sengled skill from its Alexa platform. As of August 1, 2025, customers can no longer use Alexa voice commands or routines with Sengled bulbs that required cloud connectivity. Amazon cited “repeated extended service interruptions” and a lack of resolution from Sengled as the rationale for the ban, urging users to switch to devices that meet Alexa certification standards. Sengled lamps using Zigbee, Matter, or Bluetooth can still work natively with Alexa, but Wi-Fi bulbs reliant on Sengled’s cloud can’t be controlled via voice nor app.

These no longer work with Google Home either. There are pretty much useless. And of course I just bought 8 more of these right before they stopped working… Not happy.
These also no longer work with the Sengled app. They’re just not smart bulbs anymore, to put it simply. They are regular lightbulbs except a little heavy.
This was my main light automation equipment at my house, and I feel ripped off because of the houseful of these stupid bulbs I am already stuck with… And I got several years of use as advertised out of them before this happened. I don’t think I could forgive you, Woot, if I bought these from you when they were already non-functional.
Oh no some people already bought them. Woot better yank them all back real fast it this is not gonna end well. Hurry, Woot, hurry!!
Check out r/Sengled. Some folks there were working on a way to flash Sengled wifi bulbs to make them usable.
I have a bunch of their bulbs, too, but fortunately all mine are zigbee so they still work.
