How well do these hold up to washing? I purchased a similar one from a big pet retailer and the foam fell apart after the 1st wash. Possibly due to user error. Maybe there is a better way to clean the foam?
You ONLY wash the cover, not the foam. If you must, then wet and blot dry. If your pet has frequent accidents, cover the foam in plastic (suggest the type used for people that wet the bed so it doesn’t crinkle)
I don’t think they were the XL in the last Woot. I just measured mine and they are 39"x29".
I have a 80lb and 60lb flat coated retreiver mixes that fit well, and use them nightly. The beds usually just need to be vacuumed, but when they do need to be washed, they wash up well.
Been very happy with them. The padding has held up well.
I bought this in the previous Woot as well. My medium-sized (35 lb) dog found it to be a bit too fluffy at first, but got used to it after a while (she’s shy around new things).
We have washed the cover since, it comes off easily like most other dog beds and you can just Febreeze the foam within.
We also purchased one in December. My 15 lb Maltese loves the side bolster (8" high). If she’s not on it in the evening, the cat is on it during the day. There is one 46" zipper that runs along the back bottom of the bed and around both corners. I’ve had many a dog beds in my home over the years, and this is one of my favorites. I vacuum it regularly and if I were to clean it, I’d probably use the upholstery wand that I got on my steam cleaner (from woot). The foam feels like those egg crates inside and the bottom fabric has plastic nubbies to keep the bed from shifting so easily.
Are the dimensions of the bolstered model taken from inside or outside the bolster? My two 35 lb dogs must always sleep together and they prefer the bolster type beds.
