2013 Sextant Wheelhouse Zinfandel, Paso Robles
I noticed that the bottles listed were both 2013, but the picture of the Central Coast shows a 2011. Is that a snafu?
I have never had their Zin, but I did purchase their Cab previously (the 2009). Not a fan, I remember it being very tight with not much body or flavor.
Perhaps I received a bad batch, it was close to being almost bubbly too, but I would not buy Sextant again without a LOT of convincing.
Those cabs were subject to some bottle fermentation if I recall correctly, and was discussed on the forum when people were buying. They were actually the reason I found Sextant, and am very pleased that I did. After an hour or two in the decanter those cabs were a steal.
I do not have much experience with the Zin’s, but all the Sextant cab purchases that I know didn’t have the fizz were excellent. I also love Zin’s from Paso…This will be a tough offer for me to pass on.

Curious if the winery will chime in - seeing the ETOH is he same and the pH varies slightly how does that impact the juice? Looking for examples on the differences
I was able to taste at Sextant just after New Years and will say - these are great for the price. We bought a few of the other Zins - I want to say from Holystone Vineyard - but these were pretty darn good too. I don’t have notes but I just bought two.

I bought the 2010 Wheelhouse from woot a couple times. I really liked it and am going to buy some today. I don’t have any notes on it but remember it being a fairly hearty wine.
It was $80 with shipping for a 5 pack, but that was all Wheelhouse.

Bought the Zinfandel a few years ago from Woot, and it was delicious. All I can remember was I wanted more. Certainly worth a try in my opinion.
