Been on the site for years. It used to be a fun rush to try for a BoC with every Woot-Off. Used to snag them periodically - often enough to keep it exciting. Haven’t been able to snag one in ages. It’s been tons harder since the app came out, among other things. So much harder that we rarely bother following the Woot-Offs any more Keep hoping we’ll luck out one of these days but
The way the bocs are done in the woot offs now makes it a tad easier. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still intense, but they don’t sell out the very instant they’re available now. I feel more people have a shot at getting them now.
The peeps who got the Pointless Push BOCs are still in jail
I’m new here. These look fun.
Welcome aboard.
YMMV. Your mileage may vary.
Prepare for disappointment, that is a safe bet.
@ocheck I want your BOC!!! I need shoes too. Lol Size 7 wootybot!!
Did you ever receive your BOC from the August Leaderboard Drawing?
Not yet, it was shipped today. I’ll post it here once I get it!
Exactly where I got it from. I’m glad somebody picked up on that.
Ginger is patiently waiting for the woot-off tomorrow in hopes of scoring another bag and a friend for her .
Wow, the BOCs were flying out the door yesterday in the Funhouse. I couldn’t even get the pages to load before they were sold out. It was intense! I’m hoping I have better luck in tomorrow’s Woot Off.
It is, in fact, a piggy! Japanese-style boar shaped coil burner, as seen in many vintage anime. When you light the coil the smoke comes out its nose
From top left to bottom right:
- breakable handcuffs, I mean zip ties
- Woot tote bag
- a bunch of square slabs of colorful leather for if I ever do drugs or need to distract a unicorn
- a bunch of plastic coasters
- a makeup brush (person who would use this not included)
- 3x hot wheels cars
(Back to bottom left) - headlight adapters for a H2 hummer (hummer also not included or owned)
- bags that use zippers so I can pretend I’m not basic
- 2x of the same book that I’ll never read (I don’t read, I math good)
- a (now broken) woot pen
- knitting needles made in Germany and hyped up with a lot of marketing fodder on the back of the package
(Not pictured)
- donation/recycle/trash bin where I stored these things
Other than the zip ties, tote bag, zip n carry bags, and hot wheels cars, I don’t think anything in this BoC was actually usable or giftable. I’m not really sure what I’d use the zip ties for but I’ll go through these eventually over the next 40 years on various home projects I’m sure. Tote bags are always a win in my opinion. I can probably find some usage for the zipper bags, and the toy cars I’ll likely just give away to the local thrift store. I wish I had the money to have a H2 hummer so I could have an excuse for the headlight adapters, but I’m more of the 2003 Honda Accord car kinda person. No, I don’t have that car either but just saying.
Overall, this BoC was my least or second least favorite BoC ever won, but hey, I got a great haul last time so likely this was either Woot’s or the universe’s way of balancing things out for me and giving me a BoC on the opposite end of the 'great stuff’ spectrum.
Peeking behind the curtain.
I didn’t order a bag of crap but I wanted to comment on something. I like the loading screen after you make a purchase with the machine thing working in the background and it even says you don’t have to watch the screen but it is so nice I stay around a watch it. But hopefully they didn’t spend too much money or hurt anybody making that lasting screen.
In todays box of disappointment:
L’ANGE HAIR Le Duo Grande 360° Airflow Styler (Looks fancy)
A double dipper bowl (I do love snacks)
A blue leather Buick key fob holder (I don’t have a Buick but I’m sure most key fobs will fit)
Some screen mounting screws, maybe
A shower liner
Tiny kids cleaning gloves
And a peppa the pig nursery decor
I mean, you’re not wrong. LOL
