Shark Navigator Lift-Away Upright Vacuum

Shark Navigator Lift-Away Upright Vacuum

Not sure if I’m just shouting into the abyss with this new comment system but I have a vacuum very similar to this. It does a great job actually cleaning but pay close attention to the handle, especially the picture of the woman holding it. It’s large, hard plastic and not ergonomic at all. I often find myself contorting my wrist this way or that to get the hose to follow along with it. I had a previous Shark that didn’t have this kind of handle and don’t know why they switched to these big, ugly, hoops. Besides that it works as described and does a good job.

I bought a similar Shark from woot that was also a refurb. It didn’t look like it had ever been used and it’s one of the best vacuums I’ve ever owned. We have had a couple of Hoover Wind Tunnels and Shark puts them to shame. This same model is $114 at the mothership. I’m in for one for my daughter who is in the AF and lives in on base housing. I believe her vacuum started service during the Gulf war.

We bought a Shark Navigator several years ago off one of their infomercials. It replaced an aging Dyson. The Shark has been great and does a noticeably better cleaning than the Dyson. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another one but I don’t need two. Seems like a pretty good price on this Woot deal.

I have one of these and it sucks. And I mean that in a good way. Great on carpet and bare floors, be they tile or whatever. The only “down side” I have for it is you can’t really set the pull away part down because it’s not flat. That and if you don’t wash the foam filter regularly it can be pretty stinky. If I needed a new one I wouldn’t hesitate to pull the trigger on this one.

Not sure what WOOT has done here. The old chat system was great. This…Not ready for Prime time. Have to reload twice just to get it to come up.

Pop us a little more info, was this on a desktop browser or mobile? Win/Mac/iOS/Android? I’ve had issues with logging in (we are working with the Forums provider on that), but not with displaying the forum itself.

Is it going to the main forums first? We’re working on that issue. Quite aggravating.

If it’s something else, let us know what it’s doing so we can figure it out.

THANK YOU!

I purchased a new Shark Rotator UV795 from Woot back in January, but my feelings on how bulky and ungainly it is are not relevant to this one offered today. I can, however, say that my Shark dirties filters faster than any other bagless vac I’ve ever owned (the Dysons are by far the best). The filters in my UV795 will be filthy after a single use, but the filters in my Dyson DC40 will still look clean after a month.

In my opinion, if a bagless vac dirties filters fast then the design is not very good at separating the fine dirt from the air stream. While Yes, my Shark does have great suction, an excellent brush roller and I love the LED “headlights” I just wish it didn’t rely on the filters to trap so much dirt.

I don’t know what an average weight of a vacuum cleaner is, but my Oreck only weighs 8 lbs. This one claims “lightweight” at 15.6?

I have an old Eureka Capture+ Pet Lover vacuum that comes in just shy of 24lbs. Compared to my relic of a vacuum, I’d consider this Shark lightweight enough at 15.6 lbs! Compared to your Oreck, maybe not so much.

I had an Oreck upright. Its 8 pounds was without any of the accessories. Sure, it was lighter to carry, but it really wasn’t any easier to push when it was vacuuming and without everything onboard, it was less convenient.

Woot deleted my post showing a lower price for a newer version of this Shark. The deal expired today but was relevant to this discussion for comparison purposes. Woot is making it more difficult to comment on their items in a deliberate attempt to block informed buying decisions.

As I explained in private messages, you were using a referral link. Referral links pay money to the people that link them. That is not allowed on Woot.

If you link directly to a product, that’s fine.

How easy is it to empty the vac after cleaning. I have always used bagged vacs to make emptying easier and cleaner.

It’s VERY easy to empty the tube. I may be a bit OCD but I empty it after every use and I clean the filter after two or three uses. I’ll never buy anything but a Shark again. At this price I am surprised they are still available.

I was just going to give an update on this Shark. I bought it for my daughter who has just started her second year serving in the U.S. Air Force. With her dorm she was issued a vacuum cleaner that I believe is at least 10-15 years old. It is well past it’s shelf life. I am hoping there won’t be any issues with turning that one in. Her dorm space is limited. I put it together today, all by myself, and I’ll give it to her when she comes home for Christmas. Love woot and love the Shark. Love my daughter more! Happy Veteran’s Day wooters!
