shirt.what? artist archives and derby leaderboard

That was so fun! What a great way to make the info accessible. Thank you so much for this.

Hey Woot, just a suggestion, but I think that you should seriously think about bringing Bluchez onboard your staff. He’s done a great job of sorting the mess that is otherwise know as the woot art achives. Great job on this. I’m sad shirt derby stats is dissapearing but this makes the art a lot more concise and easy to browse based on artist.

Edit - I did just notice though that you don’t track dailies it seems associated with individual artist on thier pages. Maybe in the future?

This is quite possibly the best thing ever. My favorite parts: the sizes of artist names based on number of entries, and the rollovers of thumbnails showing the derby it came from, etc.

This is my new favorite site ever.

  • Added some search options to help filter artist results by derby or removed/rejected status.

  • Added removed entries. Not sure whether I’ll keep my program running around the clock just to capture them, but I’ll see if I can.

Thank you very much for doing this. Your site is amazing!

Could you add a summary page, in top 10 format perhaps, of the most number of derby wins, percentage of wins relative to entries, number of entries until first win, number of rejections, longest continuous streak of entries, etc? Other categories could be used, but just a snapshot of the overall artist community.

And second, could you change the color of the font of artists’ names based on the date of their most recent entry? Perhaps the scheme could be red for most recent entry in most recent derby, orange for within last month, yellow for within 3(6?) months, black for longer than 3(6?) months. This way we could get a visual sense of the activity or inactivity of the list of artists. This could also be applied to most recent derby wins, too, in some way.

Those are my thoughts, but take it or leave it, your site is awwwesome, and I really appreciate what you’re doing there.

You could also add a PayPal donate button if Woot doesn’t put you on staff…

Thanks, Blu! You rock. Amazing work. Where is your paypal “buy me a beer” button?

This is fantastic. I’m having so much fun going through these. I was surprised looking back at my own entries, haha. I’d forgotten I made half of those…

Added all of the info to highlight derby prints. Since there are so many, and so many shirts that have printed in total, I could have easily missed one or mislabeled one. Please let me know if you find anything.

Ask and you might receive: Derby Leaderboard

Daily shirts are also on the list. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Whoa! That leaderboard is nuts!

The “Most Average Votes” stat seems like it should raise a few eyebrows…

Most popular derby by votes is cool, but how about highest/lowest scoring first place or maybe the highest/lowest average of the top three?

Thanks for the suggestion. I added a couple of graphs that are based on those ideas. I think it gives a nice overview of voting history.

in your artist archive, inglekott, the winner of the first derby, has a 20% derby print percentage rate (1 print from 5 total entries) but isn’t listed in the “best print record” list. is there a minimum number of prints to qualify?

I felt a 20 entry minimum was appropriate for best record and average votes. Without it, the lists are full of collab accounts and people with very few entries.

This would be an unfiltered best record, which wasn’t very interesting to me.

BootsAndRamy 100.0
chogentry 100.0
snakeweber 100.0
leonryan 100.0
kpetrasko 100.0
nicetry 50.0
jeebussez 50.0
goldfishinapicklejar 50.0
CptJimboHapsburgCho 50.0
methepainter 50.0

This says a LOT about how more EC’s, even if they’re far from perfect, would make for far more interesting prints.

Not to me it doesn’t - certain people always do well in the derby (maybe because they submit things they know will get votes) and others sometimes don’t do so well (they submit “risky” entries because they thought they’d be cool)

Although things are gonna get skewed cuz Drakxxx submits collabs with Crescent Debris under his name and then each also submits entries individually

I’m not saying it’s definitive proof of anything, just that it’s unusual.

Essentially, the stats are saying that even among the most popular artists, Ramy and Seki routinely score 20% more votes than the nearest competition. 20% is huge.

What’s additionally interesting is that they score virtually identically, with only 4 votes separating their averages (which puts them within 0.6% of each other).

That’s pretty uncanny, and is definitely an extreme outlier from the rest of the stats. While, of course, being by itself no particular proof of anything.

be interesting to plot ramy votes vs seki votes in the derbies they both entered and see how close the correlation actually is. Or the ratio of ramy:seki vs. derby.

I’d like to see a stat of most winners of doubletake derbies or even percentage wins of doubletake derbies; i.e., wins per doubletake entry. might be a better indication of ‘respectedness’ of artists, but interesting in its own right.

average difference between vote totals for each in each derby in which they both entered? std dev?
