Purchased size 16x25x1 for $43.41 back on 3/28/24 from mothership, about .20 more than they are now. I prefer the higher filtration of the MERV 11 with having dogs in the house. Also, having just replaced a 40 yr. old furnace with a new one Iâm not concerned the blower motor will be taxed by the slightly higher back pressure vs. the MERV 8. If you are a Prime member this deal would only save you about $3.22 for the 16x25x1 size.
It isnât a huge savings but why pay more? Even without a âdealâ I think these are a better value than numerous more expensive brands.
MERV 11 is what I always use.
Donât worry about a higher MERV filter âtaxingâ your blower motor. In fact, as the filter gets a bit plugged with dust the motor will draw fewer amps.
As a HVAC service person, the way we could tell the condition of filters in large blgs was checking amp draw of the motor.
The motor is working the hardest when itâs moving a lot of air (which is a good thing).
Too bad our odd-size filter isnât included⌠(20"X22")
Thank you for your helpful information! My HVAC installer didnât make his input as clear & helpful as yours.
My filter size is 50 cents cheaper on Amazon right now for the exact same one.
