When I first saw these I thought they were a gimmick but, based on the positive reviews, purchased them from the mother ship in Aug. 2019. I became a believer after there first use and now will never be without them. They work great and, because they make the clothes tumble better, they indeed reduce drying time. After 3+ years of use all of mine are still in great shape. IMO, well worth the $.
Agree 200%
Have a set for at least 10 years and they still perform like champs. Work on all fabrics, leave the cloths soft and static free (unless overdried.) I didnāt use drying clothes or fabric softener in ages and will never go back to those chemicals.
After all those years the balls lost a little bit in the size, but not by much. I guess they will be good for another 5-10 years.
Please read reviews on the brand you intend to buy. Some are not that good: the wool is not packed densly enough, the yarn might be mixed with syntetics, or the core might be filled with junk - i read it all. Mine were Australian brand, thatās all i remember now.
Do folks put essential oils on them for the smell? Thatās the main reason I have dryer sheets, but I did buy these to try.
I only use the balls. I do use Downy Unstopables Laundry Scent Booster Beads, however, and find that stuff more to my liking than scented detergents or scented drying sheets.
Yes, you can put a few drops on the balls to add a scent. Iāve only done it a couple times I mostly use a few of those beads in a the wash. Also use a ball of tin foil in the dryer if you get static when you pull out clothes.
I use them with the bounce pet and lint guard sheets
I did use essential oils for a while, but my aussie keeps taking these to play with - he likes them better than squeaky balls
I ordered it. Did you buy this brand?
I honestly donāt remember, it was so long ago. But this brand here looks legit to me, i am thinking about getting some extras for myself.
I got two of these in a BoC. They work very well, especially with polyester/synthetic sports clothing, which retains dirt and nasty smells if you use dryer sheets or fabric softener.
I prefer to keep the balls scent free, thatās why i use the beads. But yes, the balled foil is a very good alternative or addition to the wool balls, I used it in the past all the time; just they are really loud
oh my gosh - how cute??!! Iād give her anything
Add a ā+1ā from me. Ordered these from the Mothership a few years ago because my lovely bride would always throw my microfiber cloths in with the regular laundry and the dryer sheets would ruin them.**
** Iāve since brought a few āback from the deadā by soaking them in PBW (brewers cleaner) a couple times - that seemed to help quite a bit of getting the ādryer sheet gunkā out of the microfibers.
These donāt always work great with static issues, but I live in an area thatās extremely dry in the winter and dryer sheets sometimes didnāt even work for that.
They help with the āsoftnessā issues enough for my wife to be happy, I enjoy the āthereās not fake gunk against my skinā factor, and my (new) microfiber cloths are happier now as well! Oh, and I think Iāve saved enough on dryer sheets now that the wool balls paid for themselves.
I saw the picture and was going to order. Then I realized they arenāt eggs.
Same!!
I ordered it. I have tried for a while to convince my hubs to switch to dryer balls because itās the more environmentally friendly approach to no avail. He changed his mind when he saw I ordered it. Lol
I wish they made these square. But good workout chasing these balls all over the wash room lol
use a tennis ball
Anybody get only 5 dryer balls? I was looking around were I opened them to see if I dropped on, but I noticed the package was already opened on one sideā¦
It still will work great with 5.
