Bill Likes It (M&P 4)

I have the M&P3 that I bought 3 years ago for $35 off of woot. I still use it and it’s in permanent service in my Jeep. One of the best woot purchases I’ve made.

That it isn’t a rechargeable unit turned me off. I have a 200 Lumen with a lithium ion battery and it is also a 25 Mil. Volt stun gun for $40.

I have one I bought on Woot about three years ago, too. It’s small and lives in my purse and I pretty much forget about it till I really need a flashlight, at which point it is a welcome surprise! The batteries just got replaced for the first time last week. The light is clear, white, and very far-reaching. I love it.

I got the M&P 9… Is it a regular flashlight or does it go on a gun??? I guess it’s to late to cancel if it’s goes on a gun but I sure would like to know so I can get my husband something else for Fathers Day!! Would someone please respond?? Thanks

Gosh, looks like low is very low lumen and high mode is very high lumens with short battery life. They could have made a medium brightness mode.

It’s a regular flash light that CAN be mounted on a standard 1" weapon mount on a gun. If you don’t have a gun or don’t intend to mount it on a gun, this will still work fine as a VERY BRIGHT flashlight.

THANK YOU very much for answering my question…I really appreciate it.

It seems that every other “deal” these days is for a Cree LED based, aircraft aluminum flashlight…They are all very good and deliver what they promise. My only rub is that they have become a commodity, and $40 is no longer the “right price” for them on sale…There are some very fine ones on sale for as little as $10…Once you realize that the base components are the same, i.e. the Cree LED, and the aluminum frame, you will no longer be willing to pay extra for the name. And yes, I do see that some outfits still try to sell them for upwards of $200…

What’s with slapping the word ‘tactical’ on all sorts of stuff these days? I mean, I’m really glad to know that this isn’t a ‘strategic’ flashlight, but that would have to be, what, the moon?

Tactical is more of a definition of the way the light is designed. These lights have a rear touch instant on/off and also a rear push and leave on. In this way the light can be used in tactical situations to briefly light an area or be left on to conduct a lighted search. A lot of lights these days have as many as five settings: high, low, strobe, etc, etc. So you’d have to cycle through all of those settings to get the light on/off or to where you want it. Not a good idea if you’re trying to maintain your stealth. Personally, I hate the lights with all of the settings; invariably one will forget that he/she hasn’t cycled all the way through and leave the light on, killing the battery.

I bought one of these and though you can see the build quality generally is high, mine had a defective switch. They are made in China. When I called the manufacturer, (it sounds like a mom & pop operation- believe it or not) they wanted me to send it back by UPS my expense and said they’d take a look at it. I wasn’t willing to spend the additional $15 for an item in this price range, so I’ll live with it. Seems like anything with a S & W name would be better supported. Someone like Amazon would immediately ship you a replacement or send you a shipping label. Caveat emptor.
