I love good coffee, but I’m a bit of a cheapskate. Is this stuff worth $18/lb? Certainly sounds fancy…

I’m pretty much a coffee snob. I was in Jamaica and spent $50 on a pound of Blue mountain. Great coffee, but I can’t justify the cost. Ideally the best coffee is from local roasters because it’s freshly roasted- (depending on the roaster and the bean) those prices can be $7-$12 per LB. Because I’m such a cheap b@$tard, I’ve come across some decent coffee at Sam’s club (Columbian supremo) and Costco (Cameron’s Nicaragua) that come in 2 or 3 LB bags and avg about $5-6 per LB. I buy the whole bean and grind it just before making it.

The coffee here seems decent, they claim the roast it the day before they ship it (which is great if it’s true). The descriptions are definitely written by someone that knows their coffees. It might be worth a shot just to sample $37 isn’t too much of a gamble. Sometimes the hype make it taste better also. Just like wine, you pay more $$ and suddenly the wine tastes better.

This coffee sells for $15 for 12oz package on Smokin’ Aces website - that’s $20 per LB. The discount here is kinda weak, not even 10%.
