If you live in the mythical lands where it snows, wouldn’t it just make sense to make your posts out of metal, concrete, or masonry if snow is breaking your mailboxes? Or is there something about it that us mere mortals from the earthly realms where it doesn’t snow don’t know about that make those unreasonable options?
hmm,
the pics looked more like the snow plows were breaking the mail boxes, no?
All of those things can break when a snowplow hits them. Plus if they don’t give first, they break the mailbox. It gets expensive.
But it reminds me of this.
Lol I read that story too. Hard to believe he got permits to do that from his town but it’s still funny.
I rode shotgun in one of those huge commercial snow plows during a snowstorm & that was fun. We were making a u turn between the barriers on the highway we were plowing & someone sped up trying to pass us & clipped our blade. He went zig zagging a bit. Guy never stopped just kept going. My copilot and I just looked at each other & said I didn’t see anything. We never reported it & figured the guy was driving illegally (no license/insurance/registration whatever) because we never heard a word about it.
Victor I know you are retired now, but if you are reading this I didn’t snitch either. ![]()
I’m sure I could get a permit to do that where I live. You can do a lot in a small town with no HOAs.
