These are great, I’ve had one over a decade, the “power” is compound leverage in the pliers, these are the only tool that’s been able to fake being a wrench, they really grab. Everything locks in the out position, that’s the “lock” part. No idea what quality is like these days.
As far as quality, like all things SOG, decent ideas but poor execution. For instance, I tried to use the saw and it snapped in half. I tried to use the measuring markers but they are stamped wrong (really?? Doesn’t anyone check these things??). The little flaps fall off every time I use them, I have to snap them back on. The locks are difficult to use, always a struggle. Yes, compound leverage is nice, but if you squeeze too hard it is enough force to break the plier Jaws in half. Very poor engineering, complete lack of quality control and product testing.
