Cheaper on Amazon?
not available on amazon…i cant find a model number here…but i just bought one from walmart (similar) model 8911 almost triple the price…i like the extra heads and tools on this one(tools remind me of that dustin hoffman movie: Marathon Man)
This is a SoniClean and not the Sonicare. Reminds me of the old Chinese knockoffs with similar names and logos. That great deal on a Sonny Walkman wasn’t so good when it died a week later and Sony refused to replace it.
On Amazon it has ASIN: B072YVWBXH. Looks like the last time this was available from the mothership was on Sept. 17th for $34.95.
soniclean??? is that like sorny and panaphonics?
The price was higer than others.I don’t recommend it
I disagree with those who put this down for not being an actual Sonicare. I bought one on the last go-round and was quite pleased with it. It came with numerous brush heads and cleaned better than the Braun/OralB brushes I’ve used for years. I’d wished I’d bought 2. When I saw a similar Sonicare on sale a month ago at Target for $39 I bought it. The 2 brushes are so similar it seems Sonicare must have made the one Woot offers. Except the real thing only came with one brush head and the “copy” actually cleans better with a wider degree swing arc. Both chargers look the same and are interchangeable. This is a very good value.
What replacement brush heads to you use - Oral B or Sonicare?
Went out to the mothership to shop around as I’m in the market for a tooth scrubber. Many of the actual brand named Philips Sonicare brushes have a $10 coupon available.
Good luck finding REPLACEMENT brush heads for this toothbrush!
More like a Magnetbox.
This whole nonsense about 40,000 RPMs, whitening mode, soft rinse, whatever the hell… it’s all just fancy talk for “it vibrates a bit,” right?
That almost got me before I read the comments. SoniClean, that’s a SoniNoThankYou.
Have used Sonicare for years. When the batteries died I picked up a deal at Sam’s for 2 Sonicares. They were not as good as my old Series E, so I hacked open the old E model and replaced the batteries; works great. BTW, I’ve also noticed that “compatible” brush heads are no match for the real ones.
My real Sonicare flexcare kept crapping out (I bought it from Costco) and had to send it back 3 times in a period of 1.5 yrs and my wifes needed replaced also. I was on a quest to find the best cheap Chinese knock-off after trying several brands and returning them (including one called the balance sonic which is another generic copy of this soniclean) I finally settled on the $20 Kipozi Electric Toothbrush Rechargeable Sonic Toothbrush with Replacement Heads 3 Brushing Modes This one has the most power of all the Chinese sonics, about 85% of the power of the Sonicare flexcare and similar in power to the Sonicare essence. The sonicare essence for the $$ is a nice toothbrush until it becomes a a disgusting mold trap- I pitched that one, it took too much effort to keep it clean. The Balance Sonic I tried (which was an identical copy of today’s soniclean) was nice, felt fairly premium but had weak brushing action. I sent it back thinking I had a defective unit with the same result. I ended up buying 2 of the Kipozi. They are light, they feel cheap, but they have a fairly strong brushing action and hold a charge for like a month. I’ve had mine for 6 months with no issues. Brush heads are cheap, if i get a year out of it, I’ll be happy. These aren’t mold traps either like the sonicare essence, they clean up easy and good.I wanted to stay with Philips, I got tired of dealing with customer support.
I bought one a few years ago, it worked great, I loved it. I also was able to find replacement heads on amazon. The down side, it only lasted just over a year. It just stopped working. So I bought a soniccare. To compare the two, I liked this one better than the sonicare. Also, this time it comes with a whole lot of replacement brushes. Last time it only came with 3.
After checking out this model, I see it has a USB charging option.
I realize that is the reason the photo on the mothership shows it sitting next to a laptop.
That said, is it just me, or does anyone else find it amusing that the toothbrush is next to the laptop and coffee cup?
I can only imagine the mess on my keyboard and screen if I were sitting at my laptop brushing my teeth with some Chinese knockoff!
